Privacy Policy & GDPR

This page is itbutler AB's ("IT Butler", "we") consolidated data protection policy — it describes how we handle personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and what rights you have. Right now, itbutler.se is a single pre-launch page, so what we collect is what you provide via the "Keep me updated" button and — if you have said yes to it — visitor statistics, see Cookies and tracking. This page is written to serve as our general GDPR policy as the service grows too. We keep it as simple as we can — get in touch if anything is unclear. If you'd rather have a short summary in plain language, see our Your rights under GDPR page.

Who is the data controller?

itbutler AB, org. no. 559592-3508, Edinsvägen 1, 131 45 Nacka, Sweden, is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at info@itbutler.se.

What information do we collect?

When you fill in the "Keep me updated" form, we collect:

  • Your email address.
  • Which option you chose for "Who is this for?" (yourself, or a parent/relative) — we use this to send you relevant information, nothing else.
  • Where on the site the sign-up happened, plus (automatically, via our email provider Brevo) the time and IP address of your confirmation — this serves as proof that that address actually asked to be contacted.

We don't ask for a name, phone number, or any other information for this specific sign-up.

Beyond that we collect visitor statistics via Google Analytics, but only if you have consented to it — see Cookies and tracking below for exactly what is measured and how to decline or change your mind.

Why do we collect it?

The sole purpose is to be able to send you information about IT Butler's launch, and keep you updated until then. The legal basis is your consent, which you give actively by checking the box in the form and then confirming via the link in the email you receive (so-called double opt-in) — no email is sent to you until you've confirmed.

Data processors — who has access to the data?

We use Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) as a data processor to send and manage these emails, under a data processing agreement (DPA) that governs how they may process the data on our behalf. We never share your email address with any other company for marketing purposes, and we never sell it. As more providers get connected while the service grows (e.g. for BankID verification or bookkeeping), we'll update this list.

If — and only if — you have consented to measurement under Cookies and tracking below, Google Ireland Limited also processes visitor statistics on our behalf as a data processor, under Google's data processing terms.

International transfers

Brevo stores and processes the data for this site within the EU (France).

If you have consented to measurement, data about your visit may also be processed by Google outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Google relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework for this. If you do not consent to measurement, no such transfer takes place.

How long do we keep the data?

For as long as you remain on the waiting list — that is, until you unsubscribe (every email we send includes an unsubscribe link), until you ask us to delete your data, or until the purpose of the collection (informing you about the launch) has been fulfilled and concluded.

Visitor statistics, if you have consented to them, are kept in Google Analytics for at most 14 months, and after that only as aggregated statistics with no link to individual visits.

Your rights under GDPR

Regardless of which piece of data is involved, under the GDPR you have the right to, at any time:

  • Withdraw your consent and unsubscribe, via the link in any email from us.
  • Access — request a copy of what data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure ("the right to be forgotten") — request that we delete your data entirely.
  • Restriction — request that we temporarily limit how we use your data, e.g. while an objection is being reviewed.
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data.
  • Data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format to move it elsewhere.

Reach out to info@itbutler.se for any of the above — we respond within a reasonable time and no later than one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se, if you feel we've mishandled your data.

Cookies and tracking

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages are read, and how visitors found their way here. It helps us make the site better — we do not use it to target ads at you.

We measure nothing until you say yes. The first time you visit, you get a question at the bottom of the page. If you answer no, or don't answer at all, Google Analytics is never loaded — no cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. Measurement starts only when you actively click "Yes, that's fine". The legal basis is your consent.

If you say yes, we measure in aggregate: page views, approximate location (country and region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site (for example via a search engine). Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address. We have turned off the advertising features in the tag, so no advertising cookies are set, no profiling for advertising purposes takes place, and we do not sell the data on.

You can change your mind at any time via the Cookie settings button at the bottom of every page. Choosing no there stops measurement immediately, and the analytics cookies we set (_ga and _ga_…) are deleted right away. In your browser settings you can also remove cookies yourself or block them entirely.

Your answer is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so we don't have to ask every time. That is strictly necessary in order to respect your choice, is kept only on your device, and is never sent to us or to Google.

Changes

This policy currently covers the pre-launch sign-up specifically. When IT Butler launches the full service (phone-based IT support with BankID verification), we'll update and expand the policy to cover that processing — you'll be notified by email if it affects you.
